Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè (/eˈg̃ëva/ /ˈqano/ [technological] [militia]) is a temperate Town located in the Nëpimtrêsë Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè was founded by Gleli Tshêthèdo, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè has a yearly average temperature of 26°C (78°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 24°C (75°F). Overview

Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè was founded durring the late 16th century in winter of the year 1483, by Gleli Tshêthèdo. The establishment of Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Gleli Tshêthèdo struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè as a prison colony.

Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè is buildings are arranged within a network of narrow cobblestone streets which form a rectangular grid, where each block verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller block has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is protected by a humble stone fence which is tall enough to provide adiquite cover for defenders to fire from, but no more than that. The town's peasent-grade are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.

Right off the bat Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this town has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things. This wealth has brought the town nothing but neurosis, if you can believe your eyes. Everyone acts as if you’re out to take a piece of them. Every door is locked and every window barred. Efforts are made to make you feel welcome, but only in the public areas of the town, particularly the market.

Civic Infrastructure

Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè's parks.

Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè's natural decorations nor waterways.

Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

While Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè might ostensibly be ruled by some other power, real control lies with the senior members of the local craft and labor guilds. Their decisions have the practical weight of law, and much of their time and effort is spent squeezing out competitors and parceling out economic opportunities in the community. Some guilds might have little or nothing to do with their original trade, and now exist purely as shells for political influence.

Eg̈ëva-qano Dêtîkè's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by grandeur of scale, simplicity of geometric forms, dramatic use of columns, and a preference for blank walls.
